This Privacy Policy explains how Sky Hop (“the App,” “the Game”) handles information when you play. Sky Hop is a free mobile / web game. The publisher is an individual indie developer, not a company with separate corporate identity beyond what appears in store listings.
By using Sky Hop, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
| Topic | Current practice |
|---|---|
| Accounts / login | We do not create accounts. On Android you can optionally sign in with Google Play Games to use the weekly leaderboard; the game works fully without it |
| What the App stores on your device | Game progress and settings only (scores, coins, unlocks, skills, daily challenge, sound and graphics settings), in local device storage |
| What we collect on our own servers | Nothing — there is no Sky Hop backend. If you use the leaderboard, your scores are stored by Google Play Games (see Section 3.5) |
| Ads | The Android app currently shows Google AdMob ads (banner ads and optional rewarded ads). Google may collect data such as the advertising ID, IP address, and ad interaction data, as described in Section 4 |
| Consent | Where required (for example in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland), Google’s consent message is shown in the App. You can change ad settings as described in Section 4 |
| Purchases | None. Coins, the shop, and skills are in-game only and cannot be bought with real money |
| Children under 13 | Sky Hop is for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (see Section 7) |
Sky Hop currently stores the following locally on your device (for example via browser localStorage or equivalent on a wrapped native build):
This data stays on your device. It is not uploaded to servers operated by Dany Oudeesh because the game does not use accounts, cloud save, or a publisher analytics backend.
You can typically clear this data by clearing the App’s storage / site data, or by uninstalling the App (exact steps depend on your device and browser).
Like most apps and websites, when Sky Hop runs on a device or is loaded in a browser, the underlying platform may expose standard technical information (for example device type, OS version, screen size, or network-related signals used by the OS or WebView). The Game itself does not require you to provide a name, email, phone number, or payment card for play.
Sky Hop uses on-device Web Audio (or equivalent) for sound effects and background music. Mute preference is stored locally as described above. Audio processing for gameplay SFX/BGM is not used to identify you.
Under the current design, Sky Hop does not:
If you use the in-game Share your score button, your device’s share sheet is used to share a screenshot of your result with your score and a link to Sky Hop on Google Play. The screenshot is created on your device and kept only in the App’s temporary files, and nothing is sent unless you choose an app to share it with. Whatever app you share to handles it under its own privacy policy.
On Android, Sky Hop offers an optional weekly and friends leaderboard powered by Google Play Games Services. Signing in is never required to play. If you choose to sign in:
You can control your gamer name, profile visibility, and friends list, or delete your Play Games data, in the Google Play Games app or your Google Account settings. Google’s handling of this data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
If these practices change, this policy will be updated (see Section 13).
The free web version of Sky Hop, including the copy hosted on itch.io, has no ads, no sign-in, and no leaderboard. It keeps your scores and settings only in your browser’s local storage. The site hosting the game (for example GitHub Pages or itch.io) may log standard technical data such as your IP address under its own privacy policy.
Sky Hop is a free download on Google Play. The Android app currently shows ads from Google AdMob, Google’s mobile advertising service. The free web version of the game at the hosted site does not show AdMob ads.
The App shows two kinds of ads:
Ads in the App are limited to content suitable for a general audience.
The Google Mobile Ads SDK in the App may collect or process information such as:
This data is collected and used by Google, not by Dany Oudeesh. Exact categories depend on your consent choices, your device settings, and applicable law (for example whether personalized or non-personalized ads are shown).
Ads are used to:
Google processes ad-related data under its own privacy policy. To learn how Google uses information from apps that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services (https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites). Google’s Privacy Policy is at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Sky Hop does not use other ad networks or mediation partners.
Sky Hop uses Google’s consent tool (the User Messaging Platform). When the App starts, it checks with Google whether a consent message is required where you live. If it is (for example in the European Economic Area, the UK, and Switzerland), the App shows Google’s consent message, where you can choose whether to allow personalized ads and related data use. Depending on your choices and region, Google may show non-personalized ads, limited ads, or no ads.
The App’s consent setup also covers privacy laws in certain US states, which give residents the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising. Residents of those states can opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted ads by tapping Privacy choices on the menu.
| Use | Description |
|---|---|
| Gameplay | Store scores, game progress, and settings on device so the Game works as expected |
| Leaderboard | If you sign in to Google Play Games, submit your scores and show your gamer name and rank on the leaderboard |
| Ads | Allow Google AdMob to serve and measure ads that fund the free App (see Section 4) |
| Legal / safety | Comply with law, respond to lawful requests, and protect against abuse of the App or ads |
| Policy updates | Communicate material changes if we have a contact channel for that purpose |
We do not use your scores, game progress, or settings for advertising targeting, and leaderboard scores are used only to show the leaderboard.
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share or allow processing by:
Sky Hop source and packaging may use open-source or commercial SDKs; those components’ privacy practices apply to the data they process.
Sky Hop is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. It is not marketed as a kids-only or under-13 product.
Important note: If the Game is directed to children under 13 (or otherwise treated as a child-directed app under COPPA or similar laws), advertising and data practices must change. In that case, the publisher must:
Until those changes are made and disclosed, do not treat Sky Hop as a COPPA-compliant child-directed product solely based on this policy.
Parents or guardians who believe a child has provided personal information inappropriately may contact renthome9295@gmail.com.
Depending on where you live (for example EEA, UK, California, and other regions), you may have rights to:
How to exercise rights: Email renthome9295@gmail.com. Because Sky Hop stores game progress and settings only on your device, “deletion” requests for that data are best handled by clearing App storage or uninstalling. Requests about ad-related data may need to be directed in part to Google using its tools (see Section 4).
We may need to verify your request and may decline requests that are unlawful, abusive, or cannot be authenticated.
If you play Sky Hop from outside the country where our systems or ad partners process data, your information may be processed in other countries that have different data-protection laws. Ad networks such as Google commonly process data in multiple regions under their contractual and legal frameworks.
We take reasonable steps appropriate to a small indie game (for example relying on platform security for packaged builds). No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. Please use official store downloads and keep your device updated.
Sky Hop is distributed through Google Play and may be offered in other app stores later. Those stores and any linked third-party sites have their own privacy practices. This policy covers the Sky Hop App as published by Dany Oudeesh, not the entire Google or Apple ecosystems.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The Effective date at the top will change when we do. Material changes may also be noted in the App store listing or in-App notice where practical. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy, to the extent permitted by law.
